whenever everyone starts to move to new platforms (as it was already stated)
there is a great crowd for the 240 that really like the car, the lines, and the capabilities, as well as ability to do ANYTHING with it. then, there is a crowd like me, who are only using the 240 as a means to learn how to drift, since parts are cheap, easy to find, and it's a well balanced car. When I get the money, I fully intend to move to either a z33, or a s197. so i guess to answer the question, in the next 3-5 years I expect a sharp decline in after market parts for the 240 |

Drifting will die out in 2 years. Most of you will go onto jumping cars on fire through outerspace while drinking Rockstar Energy Drinks.
stupid trend whores. reality is, probably never. Look how much 'new' stuff became available for the 510s, z's, skylines, s12's in the past few years. There will always be stuff for our cars. Actually I hope the 'Trend' goes way, so all of you can start selling your stuff for cheap.

Not anytime soon. Like others have said, people will continue to crash them and people will continue to build them. Cheap, easy to work on, and rwd. Winning combo.

But we also have to consider the aspect that we've only got... that? 10 years of S-chasis' here in the states. There's a general "duh factor" to say that there's only a finite number of 240's out there. However many Nissan made, subtract how many have been completely destroyed by over the last 20 years. Plus how many are currently being wrecked beyond repair through drifting as well as casual driving and wrecks. I give it 10 more years, if not less and then seeing a 240 will become as rare as seeing an ae86. People think it's bad now to see a busted ass stock s13 sell for 2 grand with a blown headgasket, just wait a couple of years when there's less of 'em to buy.

When the Chinese move on and we're left with only the true, quality companies, part's production will diminish, but never cease to be. Only make a smaller more enthusiast community and parts base.

our community will die when enough kids take over to cause the real aftermarket companies(ie, apexi, HKS, ect ect) to want to pull out because people will cheap out and buy to many shit brand parts(ie godspeed, megan, autozone ect ect). They will see it as a loss and screw the rest of us. hopefully the rest of us will learn how to fabricate. we see where the community has come to now. its sad, pitiful and disgusting. and i blame ignorance.

it will never completely die out, look at muscle cars there's still an aftermarket for them it might go to very small but then ppl will be like oh shit remember when 240s were really popular lets build one again and the market will rise again if theres enough of them left.

^^ yea and the corolla market hasnt quite died out yet either. theres no reason for the 240 market to die out anytime soon. in fact it could be argued its getting bigger since the popularity of drifting is also getting bigger and since this isnt japan, people dont have that much of a cheaper option if they want to start drifting

haha great thread. how many more 240s are there on the streets? im curious how many ebrake kits places like villain or gktech are selling a year to make it even worth their time. how many suspension arms is voodoo13 selling (or even actually producing) a year for these cars? i feel like things that have needed to been made have already been made. and obviously people are 3d printing now so the little guys can build little random tidbits here and there.
