Rebuilding my SR20DET. Pics!
Long story short, my brass sender for my oil pressure gauge fails hardcore and snapped so my SR got rod knock so I'm rebuilding it. Here's some pics of my current progress. I'll be looking for advice and documenting the buildup here. Thanks guys!
Engine bay empty and dirty. Just the way no one likes it: Exedy, nice and pwned. Good clutch though: Gross transmission. I forgot how much gear oil reeks.

Nope. Eagle Rods, JE pistons, Tomei Solid lifters, solid type cams, GT3076r and all the necessary fuel and ignition upgrades. I'm just not sure what I'm going to go with for tuning...

Probably about a week... My bearings were already on their way to the place where bearings go when they die (Oil pickup LOL) so I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think my problem was that I attached the stock sender for the dummy light on the dash to the adapter as well and the weight, vibration, and heat all together probably ended up being my demise. Live and learn.

Damn well that's good to know anyway. I'm probably gonna figure out a way to take some weight off that fitting because that electric oil pressure sending unit is probably putting too much stress on it. Weekend project! LOL good luck with your build!!!

I personally was going to go with eagle rods.. long story.. but nope, not now.. dont think their quality is to the hype.. Good call on pistons. I think i am goin with those. REDTOP FTW!! if upgrading cams and turbo why spend $ on black or notchtop? makes no sense to me..
looks good so far though. haha dirty engine bay nobody likes.. |
