S15 subframe pics
i know sykikchimp will like this, be sure and check the full album in the lower link to see rough measurements. subframe goes on very soon
well, the subframe wont go on yet i'm waiting on a few parts: s14 rear uprights (have a full set and 1 extra right coming from some very generous forum members here on Freshalloy--THANKS) SPLParts.com RUCA--for s13 SPLParts.com Toe link---for s14 SPLparts.com forward link--for s14 Z32 rear calipers (getting today) Z32 drum setup (free of cost: from Full Speed Performance in Santa Cruz, CA, good friends) Z32 MC I got the s14 rear sway bar from Hypercarrots (thanks!) one question: i can get a s14 JDM rear HICAS sway bar, does anyone know if that's thicker then the USDM s14 rear sway? ill measuer it soon to make sure...i didnt think of it till right now. if you say hicas s14s dont exist, pls examine this: ok onto the pics ALBUM HERE with bigger pics and rough measurements: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4288315147 took a few over weekend, just 1/2 assed and fast..didnt feel like standing out in the misty weather nor in the mood to do this either. estimates are rough so please dont take it as bible. you can see how the s15 subfrme compares w/ the s13 subframe thanks to danny for the help s13 subframe. old and weathered but still good. one of our 3 extras w/ all the fixins s15 subframe: s15 diff rear mounting. look at the reinforcement up top...nice! this is for the..driver side (US) forward link this is the RLCA...sorry for poor quailty. also i didnt have the mood to remove a s13 RLCA to compare. and here's the s13 RLCA various differences: more pics are in this thread, and if you wondering WHY then read this thread too: click this link...s15 subframe on s13 chassis ill finish this writeup when the subframe goes on ruf already put his on w/ no problems for the most part (small stuff we already knew would be a issue..sway bar specifically and a few minor details) i hope to have it on by mid-jan before the Shine Street meet. |

there was no HLSD
just the subframe it was free subframe, that's pretty mcuh the only reason i am doing this, i dont think i would if i had to buy the subframe. total project cost is under $500 dollars, adj arms, brakes, labor (my own and McKinney Motorsports lift and help) and all that. Can't go wrong! i forgot the ONE thing im waiting for is my 4.3 final gear which i'll swap in probably before the subframe swap...probably get it done by Ernie. He does it fast! |

nah, 4.3 is AWESOME in turbo
i really like it hehehehe that's the main reason for getting it great for drifting too, imo no need to shift as much into 1st gear, can stay in second i know most drift cars run 4.3s and chris loves the 4.3 in the SIGNAL (komatsu's car) as well. i cant wait to go back to 4.3 a friend in japan should have a extra one from a Skyline for me.. |

Question: How much of the S14 subframe is the same on a S15?? And would a mod like this be worth anything to a S14 guy??
Also: I sent you a PM with some questions Dousan

I never really thought about changing subframes and I will proably never do it but I am curious to the benefits of changing the sub frame. Is it just cuz yours is worn out or is there a real performance reason??
Sorry for the lame question. Chad |
