(Marathon Training blog(day:10/11/08)) I'm on vacation in Washington DC and today I ran 6 miles along the Potomac River on a very scenic running trail ( which was beautiful) About mile 4 I started getting a tightening pain in my I.T. Band along my right knee I stopped a few times to stretch it out but it kept coming back.. I'm a little worried about this because I have been told the a I.T. Band injury is a definite show stopper other than that I was able to maintain a 8-9 minute mile pace.. This next week I'm going to be stretching an hour a day everyday to loosen my legs up for the race. TTFN

    NEXT SUNDAY IS RACE DAY!!!!!!

(Marathon Training blog(day:10/4/08))So today was the 5k race and I got it done in 27 minutes I could have done better If It had not been so crowded..There was over 4000 people participating in the run and It took a few minutes to get up to a running pace, long after the starting gun.. I learned allot today and for anyone going out for their first Marathon, I highly recommend running a short race first..

TWO WEEKS TO GO UNTIL RACE DAY!

(Marathon Training blog(day:09/27/08))Today I completed 20.8 miles in 3Hrs 41 minutes. My body had been telling me this past week that is was time to buy new shoes ( blisters and other telling aches & pains),so I picked up a new pair before the run today.. I'm kinda shocked that its time for new shoes already, as they were only 5 months old.

ANYWAYS! I felt pretty good over all, after todays run. I just a little pain in my right " I T" Band (aka iliotibial band ) around the knee area.

Next week I will be running in my first ever race called the "Reggae Run", its only a 5k but I'm still excited.. TTFN!!!

(Marathon Training blog(day:09/20/08)) Ran 10 miles today and it felt like 3 miles.. No sweat ... 9 minute mile pace.. not much to say...

This Saturday separates the men from the boys!! Its the 20mile training run It should pretty much tell me about how long its going to take me to complete the full 26.2.. I'm trying to get it in under 4 hours

(Marathon Training blog(day:09/13/08)) I completed my 18 mile run a few hours ago, and NOW I feel pretty good. Around mile 12 both my legs started to cramp up for some strange reason. I'm a little confused as to why this happened. The only other time this occured was when I got dehydrated a few months ago on a 9mile run, and I was plenty hydrated today. My pace dropped dramatically as a result of my legs cramping up, so it took 3Hrs & 30min to complete todays run..WEAK!! Not good enough if I want to complete the Marathon in under 4Hrs..

Next weeks run is only a 10 mile HOWEVER the following weekend is the dreaded 20 mile

    Anyways TTFN

(Marathon Training blog(day:09/6/08)) I decided to skip todays 8 mile run , because the muscle pull in my left shin still has not healed up enough to be %100 pain free. I've been using Ice, Heat, Ibuprofen (like its candy),constant stretching, and muscle rub all week. It is more important that I not miss the 18mile run coming up this weekend. I will be hitting the gym all week though, continuing the weekly training regiment.

(Marathon Training blog(day:08/30/08)) Today I ran 16miles non-stop in 2hr &35min = 9-10minute mile pace, and then I threw up WEAK!!. Woke up the next day with a severe muscle pull in my left shin Gotta heal up quick, can't afford to miss the 18 mile or the 20 mile training runs. I'm lucky that next week is only a 8 mile run .

I'm off the the Ohio Nissan meet
