Thanks for the info.  It just confirms what we (my dad and I) have seen under the valve cover.  SHIMES and they look ok.  I found that specs on the hood say exuast and intake should be (.015) of an inch.  We checked and we could not even fit the (.017) in.  I did not have a .016 (got lost) but I was able to fit the (.015) in. So if a did need new shimes it would only be to fix an 1000th of an inch if at all.  I guess my next question is, Would that 100th of an inch make a big differnce in perfermance?   <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hmmm:'>
