'better' is subjective, but forced induction masks the benefits of a small increase in displacement.

The SR has various design features that are ideal for turbocharging that the KA lacks - from strengthened internals to turbo-optimized cam profiles.  It also has a better flowing head and a higher redline.

But there is that 20% increase in displacement...

It goes both ways - It's all preference.  Torque versus revs, cheap parts versus less maintenance, etc.
