Thats what it sounds like. When I had my clutch put in, the mechanic never recommended getting a new rear main crank seal. My other mechanic then recommened the first one be shot <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':look:'>
It's a cheap gasket, but a pain to replace.
