It will cost more than $3000 to do an SR swap. Even if you do it yourself. Only the guys that have done a lot of these things can do it for that little money. You will need tools, time, and experience. Same goes for KA+T.
Realistically, it will take >$5000 for a quality setup. If you halfass it, then you will drive yourself crazy when it a) takes forever to get done cuz you don't have everything you need, or b) blows up. Save your money and do the job right (whether it's KA or SR). While you're doing that, learn how to drive and wrench. Make friends that know what they are talking about and doing instead of those that shop Pep Boys for the latest APC products.
I know everyone here is telling you to learn HOW to (performance) drive, but it's not even about that. It takes time to learn WHY and WHEN to drive. For all we know, you could be East coast 125cc shifter kart champion and be able to run circles around any of us. Figuring out how NOT to be an idiot on public roads is a different thing altogether and I'll admit it's not something I've gotten the hang of yet even at 25.
