I don't feel bad for you or your car in your instance. You not only put your car in danger, but yourself and your girlfriend. You really should've thought harder about your plan of action. You got lucky IMO.

I agree with this opinion. Instead of trying to be a tough guy you should have kept driving and gone to get some coffee to let the cops finishing sorting things out since they were all ready there. And getting the car jack from the trunk? What would you have done with that? Your gonna kill them for being drunk? You should have been smart enough to walk away.
