So if the car didn't come with it, you don't need it?
if you look at a lot of oem gauge setups, many have functional oil pressure/ water temp gauges.
The 240 has an oil warning light that doesn't warn before damage is done, and a water temp gauge that doesn't work worth a damn either.
knowing whats going on is never a bad idea. Not saying you need a crazy amount of gauges like the pic above, but as has been said, even on a stockish setup, having oil pressure and water temp is an advisable thing.
