is the S15 SR swap really worth it compared to the s13 or s14

for a usdm S14

is the stock 250 hp really worth the extra money to get instead of say a 200hp stock redtop or a 220 stock s14 blacktop

it seems like the earlier SR's are more common from what i see on the forums and ive read about redtops with 400-500 hp

but does an s15 blacktop have more potential for hp in any way over the redtop or the s14 blacktop? or is a redtop or an s14 blacktop just as easily upgraded to get the same potential as an s15 blacktop?

from what i searched... is it only the turbo, injectors, vtc that makes for the difference from the 200hp of a redtop to the 250hp of a blacktop s15?


it seems like more trouble to have to deal with the 6spd transmission in the swap...

and would there be more help available if someone were to do a redtop swap instead of the s15 blacktop since its more common?

from common sense it seems like a s14 blacktop would be easiest for a 97-98 s14 240sx...

i saw this on heavythrottle for the s14 blacktop: "Fits into US 240SX S13 and S14 chassis with no modifications to motor or transmission mounts. Uses the host chassis driveshaft and differential. Uses the standard turbo SR downpipe and stock catalytic converter location with the 240SX catback exhaust. 89-90 chassis will need tach or cluster, power steering lines and reservoir from 91-94 chassis."


is mileage the only thing better about the s15 blacktops? or would it be just as easy to find a redtop or an s14 blacktop with just as low mileage?
