been wondering the same thing myself.
obviously it can be very reliable, i mean it is a mass produced motor in japan. compare it to say a TSI which ironically is a nutorious lemon.
i would think that you would be kinda screwed if any part that is only available in japan goes out on you. they are available through jspec and enjuku, but it will take a few days. so AAA or in my case CAA is prolly a must for a tow, because it'll prolly be a while before you get her going again.
but again, it is a factory motor, so it should have nissan factory reliablity if healthy
