You might not have to pull the head off.
TDC is marked on your crankshaft pulley.
Get some long needle nose pliers and a flash light. Slowly turn the crank until you can see the wooden pole thing. See if you can grab it and take it out. Take off the valve cover it'll be easier that way.
OR (doubt you would want to try this)
Start the motor. Maybe it'll just incinerate itself
