It's in the works. I have many people in the legal field in my family, and there is legislation (in it's infancy right now) to just blanket any modifications to a street vehicles engine, suspension, drivetrain etc. as illegal (technically it already is... but this will just make it more enforcable and punishable) All that will be allowed is cosmetic and in vehicle entertainment modifications. It's coming... sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but just give it a few years.
