well im pretty frustrated right now.....
i got the short block almost completely assybled untill i started to torque down the last rod cap.
after i torqued it down i noticed a really big difference in the ability to spin the crank.
So i untorqued them and it would spin easier..
So i pulled the rod caps off and measured the bearing to see wat was going on...
and the rod bearing are to big by .03mm causing there not to be a clearance between the rod and crank...
so now i have to go down to orileys auto parts (luckly the warehouse isnt far) and go through all the bearing they have and find the ones that match the spec of the FSM.
To sum it up for the tired / mentally retarted. Federal Mougle (sp?) didnt watch there geometric tolerances close enough and they are produceing bearing that are bigger then the FSM specification and cause the clearances to not be there. (which will eventually = slung rod)
