Yeah I had to put hoodpins on mine too. It pulled the gap down and it was no longer noticeable. Also try removing the little rubber bumpstops allong the frame so the hood can sit lower and loosen and lower your latch lock so when you lock your latch in, it pulls it down tighter. Hope these help some. Also, most carbon fiber hoods(even fiber images $600-700) are 1-2 layers of carbon fiber over fiberglass. The fiberglass is the only thing that keeps them from being so flimsy.
