when you are ready to buy a motor , pull off the valve cover and check it out.
bring your own tools.
socket and wrench set 8-23mm set with extentions + braker bar.
jumper cables
starting fluid
ohms tester
drain all of the oil out of the motor and put in new oil and prime the oil system.get an oil pressure gauge and hook it up to the motor and test the oil pressure.
compression should be about 160-170 even across the board for a good clean motor.
when you pick up a motor make sure you repalce
oil pump
main seal
best to check everything before you buy so you will not have drama down the road.
Do not put an after market muffler on your car. leave a stock looking canister one or something similar to the facotry one. keep both front and rear Plates on the car.
