Mazworks was the closest at getting it done... They even offer the adapter plate for $475... It was on their site but I guess they pulled it off...

This is a pic of their Z32/300ZX transmission adapter kit but you'll need the same amount of parts...

Adapter plate
Transmission mount
Driveshaft
Shifter adapter

But in the case of the Z33/350Z transmission you will also have to fabricate a different arm for clutch fork (I think on this one... Maybe someone else can verify this) and take into consideration that your effective final drive will be the equivalent of about a 4.6 if you had stock 240SX tranny gearing...

Stock 350Z final drive - 3.54
Stock 240SX final drive - 4.08

And it doesn't have a speed sensor on the trans... If you really want one (maybe for advanced ECU functions or boost control) you can get an S14/5 ABS pumpkin and many standalone ECUs can read and convert that signal...

The shifter will sit about 4-6 farther back and there are two possible solutions for that... A VQ40 (from some Nissan truck) shifter bracket might work or maybe you can buy one from VQSwap.com ... I'm not sure about the exact placement of the shifter using their adapter(they say 4" shorter than stock) since their position is based on using a 350Z motor as well... Here is what theirs looks like... I'm going to talk to them once my motor and trans are in...

When I spoke to Mazworks a couple of days ago about the bell housing adapter he also said that the Z33/350Z transmission bell housing doesn't fit in their machine so they would have to machine the bell housing by hand... He would charge about $400 just for that... He usually charges $150 when the machine does it...

So the total costs for this project are:
$500 - Z33/350Z transmission
$475 - Mazworks adapter plate
$400 - Machine bell housing
$200 - Steel driveshaft
$? - Fabricate transmission mount
$? - Fabricate clutch fork
$? - Fabricate for purchase shifter adapter

It will realistically cost between $1500-$2500 depending on your skills and hookups... But you can run a stock 240SX clutch and starter so that saves a little cash...

My plan is to run this transmission with a 200WHP NA KA24DE and an HLSD (stock 4.08 final drive)... And show everyone how efficient use of power through gearing can be an advantage over adding HP...

I'm usually the lowest HP car in my run groups... But my times aren't...
