Actualy, you just have to worry about getting the tube bent correctly. Then, it will have to fit on the throttle body and the MAF - ie: make sure you get the right diameter or make sure you can buy/make some sort of fitting.
For the hoses, you'll need to make some holes on your piping. And for each hole, weld a small metal tube on which the hose will attach.
Thickness? Anything between 2 to 5 mm should be perfect. The idea is to keep it light and relatively solid. You don't need any special material. The intake is just a sort of vacuum, so there's no extreme pressure or anything going on in there.
