Awww man, that sucks. I have never seen any colisions (although I came really close to being hit once by a sideways vette), but **** happens. Generally though, auto-x is really safe. I remember reading somewhere that statistically you are more safe at an auto-x event than you are commuting to work, which I wouldn't doubt one bit.
