When you remove the glass sunroof from a Fastback, (since that was what the original question was about) you see no change is structural stiffness. the peice just lays in the hole.
Add a couple stbs, and a couple good chassis braces.. TAADAA, no more rattling sunroof.
I'm 6'4" with pretty long legs. My knees are in the steering wheel, and when I'm on the track, my helmets sticks into the sunroof opening (we aren't allowed to remove the sunroof, must be closed, and latched.) I don't notice when I'm on track. What I do notice is my knees in the wheel. I really need some sort of steering wheel spacer to bring it out closer to me.
