The RED top is more of a starter battery, it creates more cranking amps than the YELLOW top. the YELLOWtop is more of a performance battery. it has a Higher voltage rating, less resistance, larger capacity, and a longer lasting reverve capacity.
REDTOP
These batteries are designed for cyclic applications and for use in vehicles with large
accessory loads.
YELLOWTOP
These batteries are designed for engine starting applications. They are not
recommended or warranted for use in deep cycle applications.
