If i were you i would buy a small capacitor and give that a shot. The rheostat/dimmer is a manual switch that you would have to control, so it wont be automatic like you want. If you end up doing the capacitor let us know if it works cause I would also like to do this. Im sick of feeling around in the dark for my ignition keyhole.
