yea to take it out pull the shift boots off and you will need a C clip remover (can be bought at sears) or u can use some needle nose pliers
after the clip is out pull shifter up and out then stuff a CLEAN rag into the hole
and PULLLLLLLLLLL motor out
i did pulled my ka24de out out of boredem cuz it has knock was my first time pulling and i just disconnected everything double checked all hoses and what not and it came up and out
