Actually, I'm putting a ton of speakers in my car (far more than it needs, but I've got the stuff already, so I might as well use it). I have two pairs of MB Quarts and one pair of Sonys. I have one 2x55w amp and one 4x100w amp. Technically, all six speakers are about 30w RMS - but you can always just turn the amps down.
Anyway, my thinking was to 55w to each of the Sonys and 100w to all of the MB Quarts. Oh, one pair of MB Quarts are 2-ways, and the other pair is a set of components. The Sonys are 6" and the MBQ's are 5-1/4" (I think).
Anyway, does that power distribution seem correct?
Ya know what, while I'm on the subject .. In order to power six speakers off four RCA cables (front right, front left, rear right, rear left), I'll need to split two of them. Any thoughts regarding which I should split, or does that not matter because the split is before the signal hits the amps anyway?
I know, I know, a car as small as mine doesn't need six speakers. It certainly doesn't need two powered subs either, but like I said, if you've got the equipment lieing around, you might as well hook it all up, right?
Thanks for any thoughts.
