I have to be honest. I wasn't that thrilled about GT5 when it first came out. I played it a decent amount at first but got too busy and then stopped playing.
But I found out it wasn't completely GT5's fault.
See, my main tv was a 27" Sony Wega standard def TV (from like 2001 that I paid $700 for because that's what they cost at the time). And actually I realized it's been the reason I haven't felt like playing video games since probably 360 came out. The main problem is that it was really hard for me to read anything on screen. Actually impossible unless I stood up and walked up to the TV to read it. So in the beginning of games when they walk you through the controls I was clueless as to what was going on and ultimately that lead to me only knowing how to do stuff by figuring it out on my own. And that lead to me pretty much sucking at video games believe it or not.
The problem with Gt5 was that I couldn't see how much money I had or read things like car names in the used car lot, etc etc and the game really just looked like crap.
I knew it was the TV though.
So I finally went out and bought a new TV. Since I have a lame as armour I could only go with a 32" TV but it's plenty big for me for now. So I got a 32" LG 1080p. Got a really nice deal on it too, $399.
AND BAM! I'm in love with video games and GT all over again. I never realized what I was missing. So hopefully I'll get some more seat time and join in with you guys eventually.
Now I just need to get my cockpit back from my friends house and my GT5 set up will be complete.
