Lock it up tonight so the fool can't try and get in.
Tag it with something too so you can identify it in the streets if the fool does manage to get the car back. Hang something from the tow hook in the back or slap on a sticker that's close to the car's color but with a unique design or something.
If it were me, I'd be going MacGyver on his car with some home made tracking system and some other stuff, lol.
But seriously, this dude shouldn't get off the hook and should pay hard.
