i can assure you its not off of sunset blvd.. its probably one of the many small canyons that are accessable off of streets that hit PCH. Spend some time driving through topenga, kanan, and start dicking around with the smaller canyons and I am sure you'll find some very very fun canyons.
all of them near cliffs with no gaurd rails..
