Not true. Unplugging the TPS will keep your car from driving.

Your .62 at idle is high. and it needs to be adjusted.
as well as you 4.47v at WOT is lowish but won't hinder your performance or drivability.
But being since you can get it to be even at Idle and WOT your TPS is probably bad.
You should be able to adjust it to be almost near perfect. IE .45vidle - 4.5vWOT.,
have you tried cleaning the connections?
