so i got one cylinder head off.
As i removed the bolts in sequence and stages of course i came to one that was just not as tight as the rest. And i though hmm thats not right. I mean it wasn't loose by any means using a breaker bar they all required a pretty good tug, except for the one above cylinder 4 on the top it was just a little looser.
Anyway pulled the head and this is what i found.
Piston number 4 seems a little cleaner than the rest, towards the top near that bolt, and I'm wondering if this may have been the culprit. Compression on that cylinder was good of course.

Cylinder walls look great for 126,000 miles.
