hello everyone i just bought my first 96' s14 today that is very clean. The only problem is that the transmission is doing and wining sound kinda like a wind-up toy when the clutch is engaged put in first gear. I would like to change the clutch or rebuild the trans or get another one. the guy i bought it from doesnt seems to know much about it so..plz help. So first question, the car has an s14 or s15 sr20 how can you tell the difference? the other is i believe the guy said it had a 5 speed jdm trans but not sure; how can i tell difference and are the usdm and jdm trans the same and interchangeable as well as the clutches for the trans. Hope it all makes sense. thanks everyone in advance and cant wait to take the car out and run it hard!
