Sqeaky clutch is due to busted plastic clutch pedal bushing, Part #DAT4653435F10, list price as of 09/2000 - $7.25. This little plastic bushing goes between the metal clutch pedal arm and the clutch pedal return spring. When the plastic bushing breaks, the clutch pedal return spring starts to squeak against the metal clutch pedal arm EVERY time you press & release the clutch pedal. Gets to be annoying really fast.
Replacing that stupid little bushing is a bitch as you have to disconnect the clutch pedal arm from the master clutch cylinder push rod. Once you disconnect the clutch pedal arm from the push rod, then you have to crawl underneath your dash & somehow pop the clutch return spring loose from the clutch pedal arm. One you do that, then you place that stupid plastic U-shaped clutch pedal bushing in the spot where you pulled the clutch return spring from. Then all you have to do is put the clutch return spring back on WITHOUT letting the plastic clutch pedal bushing from falling off. Major pain in the ass.
Don't ask me how I know all this...
