Option 1
It looks like you could even have an issue with the oil drain on the turbo being lower than the hole for the block, but i vaguely remember the height differences. Your "elbow" and downpipe might be more of the issue with the steering linkage.

Option 2
If you got a good welder, you should hopefully be ok with this, you could always just make a spare, shouldn't be too pricey I think.

Option 3
Now you have to worry about the original manifold cracking AND where you modified it.

Option 5
There are a couple of bottom mount vband options out there as well. For your option 5, a top mount requires new IC (assuming you currently are bottom mount with piping you want to keep). A top mount though would be the most logical setup.

If you wanted to go the bottom mount route check out Spectrum Motorsports, Future Fab, Doc Race. I forget, but all of them probably don't have pictures of bottom mount vband setups, but they should all be able to make them to my knowledge.

I have one made by Spectrum, originally I was going to go regular T2 flange, but Spectrum convinced me to go vband.
