are these mechanically interchangeable?

i have a 90 SOHC 5 speed and my tranny is shot, i bought a 5 speed tranny that came out of a DOHC ( dont know the year ). anyhow it cam without a Speed sensor, so can i use the one from my SOHC Tranny?

I HAVE SEARCHED BUT ALL I GET IS SWAPPING FROM SR TO KA OR KA AUTO TO SR.
