Mike13 that seems a little high to me, unless it has some mods. Should have been in the neighborhood of $1250-1500
As for the '98 w/ 60k miles its value is around $6000-7500 depending on the condition. Without seeing the vehicle I really could not put a value on it.
Of course I am looking at it as a Car dealer. And believe it or not the value of a vehicle is relative to the region of the country that you live in. So the value of a S14 here (Alabama) is certianly less than say California.
