See - that's the trouble . More than 1.5" and you run out of travel fast! With a very stiff linear spring you might be able to live with an AGX or a Koni Yellow and a 1.5-2" drop. The only ones that come to mind are kg/mm s21's (Drifting Ricer has these w/ Koni's, IIRC). I think there are 2-3 others out there too but I don't know who makes them. They've got to be really stiff though to keep from bottoming constantly. Either the Konis or the AGX's are strong enough to run w/ high rate springs, but after having a kidney jarring rate (even w/ only 1.5" of lowering) in my old car, I personally wouldn't do that again!

The other side of the equation is to spend more on shocks so that you could use a shorter spring. If you get Tokico HTS or GAB Super Strokes (about $700+/-) you can run 2" of lowering while keeping 2"+ of suspension travel. I know uuninja has Sportlines on HTS dampers. The better shocks would smooth the ride and give great performance... the only problem is they are about $200 more than Konis and almost $300 more than AGX! This is the best solution, but also nearly as pricey as just buying a set of full coils (which have their own problems, imho).

All of this is to say there are trade offs. For lower $$ applications: If you really want the look w/o the performance, perhaps you can handle riding on bumpstops. If you really want the performance, you should expect that your car won't be dropped a lot. Of course, if you have the cash, you can get the best of both worlds
