if u are buying a BRAND NEW CAR OFF THE LOT, you are suppose to push the car gradually to break in the piston and the seals so they sit correctly. so if u are buying a brand new car your dad is wrong cuz you are suppose to push your car hard gradually over the first thousand or couple thousand
if ur buying used, disregard everything i said cuz your motor is already set in, correctly or incorrectly depending on the first owner
