S14 after accident help

Hey guys, I need your expert help.

I was involved in an accident about 8 months ago where another car hit my left rear wheel, damaging it. The problem is now my side shaft bolts (if that is what you call the series of 6 bolts that connect the differential to the shaft that goes to the wheel) on the left side comes loose. Since the accident I have had to tighten the bolts three times.

The car had its diff replaced (with another open diff) about three years ago and the shop lost the original nuts and bolts for it. It was replaced with another set of nuts and bolts with the proper strength and locking washers. The only visual difference between the OEM and the new ones is that the new ones don't have a flange side. The insurance company had me take the car to the dealer and they said that it is coming loose because they are not OEM bolts that have the flanges. My friend says it should not matter because of the locking washers.

What is the deal, if anyone can tell me. If you know of a reference site I can go to so I can fight this it would help a lot.
