I know that on some cars you can pull the fuse and it will be fine. I don't know about the 240 - give it a shot, worst case scenario, you have to reset the ECU.
On another note, while I don't know exactly how the 240 ABS works, I will add that it should be avoidable. ABS only kicks in when tire reaches lock up, right? I know you know that locked up tire doesn't stop you. That said, perhaps you should be a little softer on the pedal, since the goal is avoiding lockup while getting maximum braking. (at least that's what I heard on a road racing board when someone asked a very similar question). The idea is that you should never go to lockup that triggers the ABS.
