^ Exactly. There's a pic somewhere floating around of a bracket a guy made that mounts to the rearmost section of the transmission, there's a tab that extends out on either side, and it's bolting through it.
And I'd still argue daily driver vs. race car. A daily driver isn't going to see the extremes a race car would, and therefore wouldn't be under as much stress. In other words, a race car only would benefit more from a secure exhaust mount as it's under more loads than a normal car driving around town. Unless your town is full of large potholes and you intentionally hit them all.
