The alignment guy probably said that because the factory setting is 6 degrees. I went to an average alignment place and he didn't want to set it to anything else but 6 degrees. It's probably a liability thing. i.e. If you get in an accident, you can sue them for not setting your car up according to factory specs, etc. etc.
