Yes, the hoods originally come out as dry finish laminates. I am using one layer of fine weave 9oz. glass, and one layer of 6 oz. twill carbon per laminate. So there are two of these laminates on each side of the aluminum honeycomb core.
We have to use the glass because carbon touching aluminum causes galvanic corrosion (electrolosis) , so it acts as barrier and fuctions as strucural at the same time. It is really rare that we mess up a carbon weave pattern.... and that was when i ran on full caffeine, now i am half caf
I will finally be able to run the hood on track in a week from now, i need to find any weak points and address them before making this hood available for sale. I will of course post my results here after the Redline Time Attack .
