Quick question diff oil...automatic

Did a search and found out some info, buti t was basically lal questions on mt diffs. Would you use the same viscosity for auto diff as you would mt diff? I don't know alot about differentials, and I never had the oil changed in the housing (pumpkin is it called?) when I got the transmission done. It has mobil 1 synthetic, and Im happy with it. Any recommendations for the diff? Not to be picky but I need an oil not to hard to find at a local auto store like advance auto or autozone. I hear of redline oils. BTW I don't mine spending a couple extra bucks out for synthetic either.

Thanks for any input.
