It's glued on... It took me 2 vice grips and a hella lot of patients and sweat... It's some sort of glue or compound on it straight off the assembly line... I guess Nissan is trying to tell anyone who wants to take the stock knob off something.... I dont think it's a fashion statement either.... xP
