i hear ya on that but i'm in yokohama where most shops (reputable @ that) frown upon a 26 swap into an S chassis when i know for a fact it can be done... no that they cant do it.. .but they want to rape you for any services that you recieve from them... this is the only thing i miss about the states, being able to get machine work or other side labor w/out having to give my left nut... so if they act like that w/ a 26 swap.. imagine a ls1... then u have to find a shop that knows enough about the motor to even want to mess w/ you... i actually know a shop in yokohama who works on import (american) cars exclusively and he laughed @ the idea and said lets try it... but then he started rattling off a list of parts/prices that only gave me a headache...

so yea the first battle is parts (and not the motor but other maybe 1-off stuff) then IF you don't do your own work OR have a place to do your own work (for example me and bjorkluv are in the military and have the facilities to work on our own car- most japanese people do not) forget about it
