Ok I always hear the term used you can blow your seals out if oil backs up in the CHRA, this is tottally false.........your seals will be fine after you correct the problem that made your oil level rise to high in the CHRA in teh first place..........turbos used what is called a piston ring seal pretty much the same thing used on a cars engine piston to control oil..........when turbos are put together the piston ring seal is positioned so that the ring gap end is facing 12 oclock as this allows for the most highest level possibly to avoid oil leaking into the compressor and turbine housing, it cannot physically just blow out of place...however is you do clock the CHRA incorrectly you move the position of the ring end gap to a more unfavorable position that would allow for less rise before oil enter the ring end gap....
