It's not exactly easy either though. There are a lot of things that you could mess up and it's very very time consuming. People that do it themselves generally take 3 weeks to as much as 2 months (worst case scenario, if you don't have tons of time on your hands and only work on it once and a while or have to order lots of missing parts) to complete the project. If you have a shop do it for you, it's usually guaranteed to be done in 1-2 weeks (depending on the shop). To me, time is money and I'd rather pay a shop to do it and be able to blame them if something were to go wrong.
