Don't go off of stock wheels. Nobody runs stock wheels and it's a horrible starting point because it's way sunken in. Start with wheel and tires that are known to fit flush and get the camber specs on the car.

A good starting point for an s13 with 2.5 degrees camber all around is a 17x9 +15 with a 215/45/17. S14 you can get a way with a 17x9 +5 with same tires. To take into consideration wider tires, subtract 5mm of clearance for every size wider you go. Here's the explanation for this. 225/45/17 is 10mm wider than 215/45/17 so you have 5mm less clearance on the inside of the wheel and 5mm less clearance on the outside of the wheel.
