I agree with the consensus here. I have a '96 s14 notchtop in my '96 240sx. The subtle differences alone make the s14 notchtop swap more than worthwhile the $500 premium (which is an almost neglible factor considering how much more in extra parts you have to throw in). Basically my car had zero compatibility issues. I could even got to hook up a/c with ease.

If I could, i would have even gone with a s15 swap and thrown in a 5-spd tranny. the helical lsd alone (cost arounds $700 or so) would have made it worthwhile. Then again, the wiring and compatibility issues would have prob made it a considerably bigger headache.
