no you are incorrect to my knowledge.

IIRC the difference in the open-vs-limited slip differentials means you have different length driveshafts in each setup. Since the'ye two piece shafts, it's one piece or the other that changes in length. This principal applies to S13s and S14s, but again IIRC. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
